World Peace Stupa Trek

World Peace Pokhara is one of the attractions of Pokhara.  Without visiting World Peace Stupa Pokhara visit is not complete. Situated on the top of hill World Peace Stupa provides alluring view of Himalayas and the soul stirring view of Fewa Lake.  The Stupa is situated on the southeast ridge of Fewa Lake which stands as the best vantage point of Fewa Lake and Pokhara valley. World Peace Pagoda is an emblem of Peace for the all people who believe in peace and humanity. The white color Stupa was built by a Japanese Buddhist monks of Nipponzan Myohoji Organization aftermath of World War second to disseminate the peace messages to the entire world.  One of the 80 Stupas of the under the peace campaign, The World Peace Stupa is most scenic as it is located amid of  green forest, making  aerial view of Pokhara Valley and Himalayas peaks like Annapurna, Machhapurchhre, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli and other snowcapped peaks of Annapurna region.

Trekking to Peace Stupa gives you intense feeling of peace and make you lost in natural beauties. The trail goes via Fewa Lake to peaceful hamlets of hill area, and enters into lush forest with glimpse of birds and wild animals.  This trek id ideal for the visitors who have limited time but want to enjoy the experience eco trekking, rural life and panoramic view of Himalayas. About 1.5 hours trek is beat for all age groups, you can take your children with you. There are two ways to trek to the Stupa ; i) take taxi/bike from Pokhara to Deurali via David’s Fall and ii) boating off Fewa lake and walk uphill through villages.  To experience rustic life of people, and walk in peaceful trail people choose second route.

Day 01: 3 hours trek up to World Peace Stupa

An experienced trekking guide from Real adventure comes to your hotel and takes to you Fewa Lake on your foot. After getting ticket and permission we sail on wooden boat to reach other side of Fewa Lake. Our trek starts from the Shivakuti, and we enter ascend via forest in a slope route until we reach to Pumdi Bhumdi village. While passing by Pumdi Bhumdi village we closely observe the village life of people who are engaged in agriculture and livestock. After 30 minute walk we reach to Siddhartha highway on the bottom of Stupa and follow the steps ways to reach on the top of hill. On the way there are tea shops and souvenir shops. Upon arriving, to the Stupa we become hypnotized with grandeur structure before our eyes surrounded by flower garden and receiving cool breeze from Fewa Lake.White color paint and statue of Gautam Buddha give us very peaceful feelings and we can do meditation and prayer. We also encounter with Buddhist monks, nuns, and pilgrims who come here for spiritual purpose. Have some rest, breathe fresh air and take photos with background scenes of Pokhara city, Himalayas, Fewa Lake and green hills. Admire the serenity and walk down to highway to get into car for return drive to your Hotel.
