Upper Mustang Trekking

Upper Mustang is one of the mysterious places of Nepal which is blessed with incredible natural vistas and enigmatic cultural practices. Situated at the trans-border region of Nepal and Tibet, upper Mustang was part of autonomous Tibet so it portrays charismatic religious rites and rituals which are based on Tibetan Buddhism.  Located against backdrop of Dhaulagiri massif forming a naturally rugged and barren terrain with rock cliff and caves, Upper Mustang preserves the natural beauties and cultural practices which are still intact. The virgin land has abundance of sources for cultural and nature enthusiasts to explore and definitely for the travellers to have life time experience.

Known as the Hidden Kingdom of Nepal, was ruled by a king as a government until recently. The royal palace, beautifully carved Mani stones, Chortens, monasteries and Gompas are waiting to welcome you to the far flung Himalayan villages of Nepal where you will closely observe strange religious practices and alluring natural landscapes. Apart from cultural and religious strangeness, Upper Mustang trekking offers soul stirring view of snowcapped mountains like Annapurna, Dhualagiri, Nilgiri and other. The pristine beauty of Kaligandaki Valley, beautiful agrarian fields, painted rocks and hanging caves and Tibetan villages flapping with colorful praying flags and spotted with beautiful monasteries are main attraction of Upper Mustang Trekking.

Straddling under the Himalayan rain shadow, Upper Mustang is suitable place for trekking throughout the year except heavy snowing in winters. The ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet and the yak caravan region is unaware of modern development but rich in culture and warm hospitality. Lo Manthang, the walled capital of kingdom of  Lo is  main attraction of Upper Mustang Trekking, which is ahistorical place having 600 years old Lo Manthang Royal Palace, ancient Gompas and series of caves.
