Lower Dolpo trekking is designed for the people who want to experience the primitive way of life of people, alpine beauty, and to have an adventurous trekking in short period of time. 20 days Lower Dolpo Trekking takes us to bright green Phokhsundo Lake, the largest national park of Nepal, Shey Phokhsundo National Park, which houses rare animals like Blue Sheep, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Langur and the birds like the Kadebhyakur, ( Babbler Bhykur ), the bird only found in Nepal, Golden Eagles and Lophophorus etc. While walking through beautiful pine and juniper forest we smell scent of herbs like Arsha Gompa,Sea buckthorn and other medicinal herbs.

20 days Lower Dolpo Trekking starts with sightseeing of major cultural and historical sites of Kathamandu valley. Next day we fly to Nepalgunj followed by short flight to Juphal Airport. In third day we set off our foot in Himalayan villages and pass by Thulo Bheri river and many other pristine rivers and snow rivers, Phoksundo lake, beautiful valleys and rugged and high passes like Numala Pass (5,115m) and Bagala Pass (5,100m).

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

With an aerial view of Kathmandu valley, you land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. Upon arriving, representative form Real Adventure Nepal Tours and Travels welcomes you and transfer to one of the famous hotel in heart of Kathmandu. After check in, take some rest and freshen you up. In evening a professional tour and trekking guide visits you and briefs you about full day Kathmandu Tour and suggests some preparations to be made before setting off for trekking destination. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 02: Full day Kathmandu City Tour

After breakfast, a professional tour guide comes to your hotel with a luxurious vehicle. Firstly you drive towards the Kathmandu Durbar Square, historical royal palaces with sacred Kumari Ghar (home of living goddess), temples, statues and monuments along with gallery shops. Secondly, we move to another UNESCO listed cultural heritage site, Swayambhunath, known as monkey temple situated on the hill top. Surrounded by praying wheels and flapping with colorful praying flags Swayambhunath stands as vantage point of entire Kathmandu valley. Equally venerated by Hindus and Buddhists, dome style Stupa has many temples and chortens along with museum of relics, fossils and traditional art crafts. After Lunch we move to famous Hindu Temple Pashupatinath followed by largest Stupa of Asia, the Boudhhanath. After 8 hours long sightseeing tour of Kathmandu we retune back to Hotel. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 03: Flight to Nepalgunj

From the Central hill of Nepal, we fly to mid-western south of Nepal via one hour long domestic flight. During flight we enjoy the view of mountains and green hills, rivers and villages of hill area. Upon arriving in Nepalgunj, the hottest place, we feel more warmer in winter and hot in spring and summer season. After check into Hotel we have some rest and visit famous Bageshwori temple. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 04: Fly to Juphal and trek to Dunai (2,150m).

After having breakfast, we take first flight to Juphal airport from Nepalgunj. 30 minutes scenic flight leaves plain Nepalgunj and flies over hills and green valley. Upon arriving Juphal Airport we meet our trekking crew and commence our trekking towards Dunai. Leaving Juphal behind, we trek up towards hill top via villages and terraces. After one hour hike we reach to ridge above Thulo Bheri River and follow leveled trail for 2 hours and descend towards Dunai Bazaar, the administrative headquarter of Dopla district. On the way we will enjoy the spectacular view of snow capped mountains and crystal clear rivers. Upon arriving Dunai we will visit monasteries and temples. Overnitght in Dunai.

Day 05: Trek to Tarakot (2,850m).

After breakfast we trek to south west part of Dunai and follow the way via Dunai Hydropower. Passing via farming terraces, we reach to small stream that connects with Thulo Bheri River. Then we enter into dense forest of pine and juniper and again come across the faming terraces of Tarakot, a historical fortress during 22-24 states era of Nepal. Leaving Tarakot hill, we trek down to riverside of Thulo Bheri where we set our camp near police station. Overnight in Tarakot.

Day 06: Trek to Laini (3,590m).

Today we will walk upward via dense pine forest and descend down towards Tarap Chu River. We follow the trail alongside of river and cross the same river twice until we reach to Sandul Gompa near confluence of Tarap Chu and Barbung Khola. Today we mostly walk via small settlements, faming terrace and alongside of river. At the end of the day, we follow steep road via meadows until reach to Laini. Laini has small teahouses and herders camp. On the way we admire view of Putha Hiunchuli (7246) and Churen Himal Range. Upon arriving Laini, we visit a waterfall neat by our campsite. Day 07: Trek to Nawarpani (3,780m)

To ascend an elevation of about 700m today we follow relatively tough trail in geographically constrained area. Leaving Laini Odar we walk upward steep road full of rubbles and sands and the trail curves towards isolated deep gorge which is hidden between hills. Sometimes, we have to pave our way ourselves and navigate the way. After an thrilling and adventurous trek of 7 hours we reach to Nawarpani for overnight stay. Overnight in Nawarpani.

Day 08: Trek to Dho Tarap (4090m.)

Today we will enter into inner Himalayan valley of Do Tarap extending to wider area and also hike pass the elevation of more than 1100m. After breakfast, we hike on gradual upward road until we reach to confluence of Tarap Chu and Lang Khola. After crossing Tarap Khola, we walk via narrow gorge followed by pine forest. Today we will walk alongside of Tarap Cho River and green meadows. The higher we walk the narrower gorge appears before we enter to Dho Tarap. Overnight in Dho Tarap.

Day 09: Exploration of Dho Tarap.

Dho Tarap is the headquarter of Buddha Rural Municipality of Dolpa district in Karnali region. The highest altitude human settlement of world situated at elevation of 42000 m from seal level, Dho Tarap still practice Bon Po religion. The central of different nine villages of upper Dolpa Dho Tarap is at only one hour distance from nine hamlets and is junction of to Jomsom, Mustang and Tibet. People of Dho Tarap follow Bon Po religion and wear religious dress. We can spend our day in Dho Tarap by visiting Bon Monasteries, encountering with local people and hiking to nearby villages and hill tops. Overnight in Dho Tarap.

Day 10: Trek Num la Phedi (4,765m)

After breakfast, we leave Tarap village and hike toward the northeast ridge and follow the trail amid of rugged terrain until we reach to Tokyu village. Few hours walking via indefinite green meadows, we reach to Tokyu Gaun for overnight stay.Upon reaching we will meet Bon Po monastery and encounter with local Magar and Lama People. After Tokyu village we descend to Khanger from where we cross stream and follow the downhill road in a desert like trail to reach to Nam La Pass also known as Nauma La Base Camp. Overnight in Num La Phedi.

Day 11: Trek below Numa La Pass

Today we will walk in remote area of higher Himalayan altitude. The hikes becomes tough and challenging today as we have to walk via steep ridge with full of rubbles and debris. On the way we enjoy spectacular viewews of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Churen Himal Range along with Norbung Kang. After 4 hours adventurous trek, we reach to below the Namu La Pass . Overnight below Namu La Pass.

Day 12: Hike to Numa La Pass (5190m.)

Today we trek towards the highest altitude of our journey the scenic and challenging Namu La Pass. Like yesterday today also we trek in a severe rugged, steep trail upward. Windy barren land with spectacular view of snowcapped peaks to the north and soul stirring view of deep valleys and snow streams provide solace to your tiresome trekking. After three hour demanding trek we reach to Numa La pass from where we enjoy spectacular view of Mt.Dhaulagiri and distain view of other mountain chain. Set the camp nearby pass and have great time with photo session. Overnight in Numa La Pass.

Day 13: Trek to Baga La Pass (5,070m).

After breakfast, we descend towards Danighar alongside of Gyambo Khola. From Danighar we follow the steep trail upward for three hours. After thrilling excursion via rough yak trails we reach to Top of Baga La Pass. Upon reaching Baga La Pass, we see beautiful chorten and admire jaw dropping view Norbung Kang (6085m) and other peaks along with the pristine Phoksundo Lake. Overnight in Baga La Pass.

Day 14: Trek to Ringmo (3,600m).

After breakfast we will descend southwest vial sloppy ridge to towards deep gorge of Temche. Then after crossing frozen stream ,we walk down reach to Yak Kharka from where we follow the trail with green vegetation which goes between pasture land spotted with Yaks and Mountian goats. After few hours we enter into lush forest of oaks, pines, junipers, and cypress with glimpse of blue sheep. On the way we pass by streams, waterfalls and ponds. After several crossing of suspension brigde, we reach to Bonpo settlement village called Ringmo. If we want to spend all day around Phoksundo Lake we can trek one more hour to Phoksundo but for easiness and explore the Himalayan village we stay in Ringmo village today. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 15: Hike to Phokhsundo (3600m) Lake and back to Ringmo.

A short smooth hike takes us to beautiful Phokhsundo Lake. Upon arriving to the lake we will be spellbound by emerald beauty of lake surrounded by beautiful pineand juniper trees to the all edges and snowcapped mountains above. The horses, yaks and mountain goats grazing around the lakes, cool breeze blowing Himalayana fragrances and dreamlike surrounding give us lifetime experience. We can visit teahouses and monasteries nearby lake, take photos and enjoy the glimpse of birds, butterflies and pleasant smelling herbs and shrubs. After a well spent day in Phokhsundo lake we trek back to Ringmo. Overnihgt in Ringmo.

Day 16: Trek to Chhepka (2,250m).

Today after having pleasant breakfast, we descend alongside of river flowing into forest of juniper and pine. About 1000m descent through steep road full of rubbles and narrow ridges just above dangerous river cliff takes us to Chunuwar. After several ups and down trails we finally reach to Chhepka. Overnight in Chhepka.

Day 17: Trek to Juphal (2400m)

Today gradually walk down via various settlements and beautiful farming terraces. Firstly we pass by Shyanta and Kageni village. Now we have to walk on steep trail for couple of hour until we reach to entry point of Shey Phokhsundo National Park. Then we follow trails towards Dhim Khola to Thulo Bheri River. After crossing bridge over Thulo Bheri we walk up via farming terrace until we reach to top above Juphal. A short trek takes us to Juphal for the last day of trekking. Overnight in Juphal.

Day 18: Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu

After breakfast we say god bye to our trekking crew members and take flight to Nepalgunj. Upon arriving Nepalgunj airport we catch flight back to Kathmandu. After check into hotel, have better rest and if time allows walk around Kathmandu city. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 19: Leisure Day in Kathmandu.

Today you can have guided tour to Bhaktapur Durpbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. You can visit Thamel, tourist hub of Nepal, where you can do souvenir shopping and enjoy food of your choices. Walking through traditional markets of Kathmandu like Asan, Marutole, and Indra Chowk gives you chance to closely observe traditional Kathmandu. . In evening we will have farewell dinner in one of the famous restaurant of Thamel with cultural shows Overnight in Hotel.

Day 20: Final Departure.

According to your flight schedule, we will transfer you to TIA and bid farewell and wish you safe journey back to your destination.
