Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is the short, colorful and relatively easy trek, takes its place in the western part of Kathmandu into the Annapurna region, one of the most popular trekking destination which offers impressive natural scenery, marvelous views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchchhre and Himchuli. One can get the lifetime chance to see some of the most dramatic views of some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world including pristine forests, diversity of flora and fauna encounter with the warm heartedness of the simple people whose rich and varied customs give you an insight into the typical life style of Gurung and Magar people.

On the way of trekking you are sure to encounter the legendary Gorkha soldiers who had served in the Gorkha Army during the world war in many countries. The main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill, situated at an altitude of 3100m, the most spectacular mountain spot on earth.

DAY 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

When you arrive in Kathmandu, you'll be taken to your hotel. While in Kathmandu you will have time fascinating Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions are highlighted on our guided tour. There's time to explore the city's many charms on your own too. In the evening delicious traditional Nepali well come dinner await for you. O/N in Kathmandu.

DAY 02 : Kathmandu City Tour

After breakfast, we'll visit Swayambhunath temple, and said to be 2000 years stupa on a hillock offers breath-taking view of Kathmandu City. We will then processed to Visit Pasupatinath and Bouddhanath. After lunch we'll visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan (Lalitpur) - which is the oldest of the three major cities in Kathmandu Valley - famous for its Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples, and you can catch the traditional artisans working with wood, stones and metals. O/N in Kathmandu.

DAY 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara

You have breakfast being of the early morning before 7:00 AM. This morning you will be drive to Pokhara (200km), departure early in the morning, approximately 6 hrs away by tourist bus. You see along the drive good scenery. You will be arrive late afternoon at Pokhara. Pokhara lakeside villages sits, "front row center" to one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and famous "Fishtail" mountain peak of Machhapuchhare tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara and you spend there will be the scenic highlight of your trip. In the evening you will prepare yourself for your trek to Poon Hill. O/N stay in Pokhara

DAY 04 : Pokhara - Tikhedhunga (1491m.)

After breakfast approx:7:30 AM drive to Nayapul (42km) 1.5 hr by Car via large village of Lumle and walk about 20 minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. The trail follows the main street of Birethanti, going through bamboo forests and past a large waterfall and swimming hole. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches Sudami where you have Lunch. After lunch climb steadily up the side of the valley , reaching Hile at 1495m near by Tirekhedhunga. Along the way, various hamlets offer ample camping possibilities but if Ghorepani is the objective for the next day it is better to push on to Tikhe Dhunga. O/N in Tirkhedhunga.

DAY 05 : Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani (2855m)

Breakfast served in morning 7:00 AM . From Tirkhedhunga the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at Tirkhedhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village Ulleri at 2070m. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There are magnificent more pleasantly through rhododendron and oak forest. There is a hut with water and a small camp site about 1 hr. above Ulleri. The trail crosses two sparkling clear two streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti. Your lunch spot in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali words meaning "rest house" "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti about one hours trek, climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. Arrive at the top of the Ghorepani pass and camp there. O/N in Ghorepani.

Day 06: Ghorepani to Poon hill and trek to Tadapani

This day we will wake up little bit earlier and then we will have short excursion up to Poon Hill (3210m). Over there we will have panoramic scenery of beautiful mountain. From this great spot we can enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the high Himalayas. It is one of the advantageous spot where we can have panoramic scenery which are really eye catching views of many mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8176m), Mt. Tukuche (6920m), Mt. Tarke Kang (7093m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Mt. Fishtail Machhapuchhre (6997m). After having breakfast we will continue our trek to Tadapani. After a short morning climb to the deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna.Then after we descend to tadapani through moss-covered forest with large number of bird life.

Day 07: Tadapani Trek to Ghandhruk

Today’s trekking trails leads us to Baisekharaka through rhododendron forest.On the way you can observe the monkeys and wide varieties of birds. The trails descend through forest creeks and small streams and into the maze of trails until Ghandruk village. Ghandhurk is a semi village of Gurung community. You will enough time to explore the gurung village and eye catching view of Annapurna South and Fishtail. Overnight at guest house.

Day 08: Ghandhurk trek to Birethanti

We gradually descend to village and our today’s trail passes through small pretty village, sub-tropical forest giving a very beautiful glimpse. Then after, we will slowly descent to Modi Khola along an ease walk to Birethanti. From here, the trail goes steeply descent alongside to the stream and descent will be gentle route up to Bnathanthi. Continues short walk will reach Nayaphul and then we will take private bus up to Pokhara. On the same day you will transferred to our own hotel and that day will be last day with trek guide and porter.

Day 09: Pokhara to Pokhara.

Between airways and roadways you can choose any one way to reach Kathmandu. In the evening time you can enjoy the Nepali culture dinner with some cultural shows. On the very last day you can enjoy the some beautiful moments and over there you can take snaps to make it memorable through lifetime.

Day 10: Final Departure

Today our ten days trek comes to end. A Real Adventure Nepal representative will drop you off at the airport then have safe and nice journey to onwards.
