Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek – 10 Days

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a short, colorful, and relatively easy trek that takes its place in the western part of Kathmandu into the Annapurna region. One of the most popular trekking destinations offers impressive natural scenery, and marvelous views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchchhre, and Himchuli. One can get a lifetime chance to see some of the most dramatic views of some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world including pristine forests, diversity of flora and fauna encounter with the warm-heartedness of the simple people whose rich and varied customs give you an insight into the typical lifestyle of Gurung and Magar people.

On the way to trekking, you will surely encounter the legendary Gorkha soldiers who had served in the Gorkha Army during the world war in many countries. The main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill, situated at an altitude of 3100m, the most spectacular mountain spot on earth.

If you are planning for long trekking around the Annapurna region then you can choose Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Ghorepani Poon Hill. On this trek, you will complete all major attraction trips to Annapurna.

There is no place like Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek for seeing mountain vistas and sunrises over the Annapurna Mountains. The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is renowned for offering breathtaking views of the tallest mountains in the world. With little physical effort on your side.

One of the key reasons it draws hikers from all over the world is that it is a Himalayan entry track that does not require acclimatization. The highest point of the climb is Poon Hill (3210 m), which offers a 180-degree view of towering, saw-toothed mountains.

On this trip

To begin the Ghorepani Poonhill hike, travel to Pokhara. Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most attractive cities, serves as the Annapurna gateway. We spend some time recording the stunning Pokhara before beginning our hikes from Nayapul, which is about two hours away.

We travel over paths carved into the ridges of the hills and stairs constructed by humans that lead to scenic communities populated by Gurung and Magar natives as well as lush green knolls covered in gorgeous Rhododendron of various hues. The most prominent attractions are Ghorepani and Poon Hill, yet each visit is worthwhile.

Poon slope is an early morning ascent from Ghorepani, which is well known for its expansive views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Ghorepani, which means horse water, was a well-known rest area for horses during the ancient Silk Street exchange.

The welcoming locals, unaffected culture and norms, enduring religious communities, and the hearty local cuisine make the journey particularly enjoyable. Even under time pressure, Himalayas Truths Events will construct a completely trouble-free schedule to create this lifetime memory.

As seen on the graph, you can also complete the route in reverse, beginning in Ghandruk and ending in Nayapul. However, doing it this way will result in less ascent and greater descent. Or around 2000 m upward and 3000 m downward, then doing it from Nayapul to Ghandruk.

Buses and jeeps are available in both settlements to transport you to Pokhara. Be aware that if it rains a lot, the road from Ghandruk gets very muddy. And buses to Pokhara might not run. You can hike through Australian Camp to Kande or from Ghandruk to Kimche Which is 4 km long and 300 meters lower (plus 16 km and quite a lot of up and down extra).

Solo trip for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

We like to trek alone when it is possible because it is more enjoyable to find our route.
