Your trip starts as soon as you land at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. Take in some of the cultural highlights of Nepal's city and rest for a few hours in your hotel before going to a meeting about your trip. In addition to planning the trip, this meeting gives the travelers important information and requests them to stay together. A trained guide will tell you about the trip, answer any questions you may have, and help you get ready for the amazing experience that's about to happen. Kathmandu is more than just a starting place; it's a cultural introduction that makes you more excited about what's to come.
On the second day of the trip, the journey to Lukla, which is 2,800 meters above sea level, starts. You might get to see the Himalayas in all their beauty from this plane and after you reach Lukla on the same day you will have a short hike to Phakding situated at 2,652 meters, which is a beautiful mountain town. During the three to four-hour hike, you will come across peaceful nature and its beauty which helps you enjoy your trek even more. With its cozy feel, Phakding is a great place to spend a peaceful night and get ready for the next day.
The beautiful Namche Bazaar is the next stop after Phakding. It takes four to five hours of walking to get there. Trekking through beautiful scenery as you see the different landscapes of the Khumbu area come to life. You will love Namche Bazaar, which is a center of Sherpa culture in the mountains of the Himalayas. This charming mountain town is a great place to observe Sherpa culture closely while heading towards the beautiful mountains. The cultural and natural sights you'll see after a 2-day hike are perfectly placed.
You will start a very important 5 to 6-hour walk from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche on the fourth day of your Everest base camp trip. It gets easier to see the beautiful views of the Khumbu area as the road winds through green rhododendron trees. Tengboche is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, which is 3,870 meters high and has stunning views of the Himalayan mountains in the area. This day not only makes your trip amazing but also makes it better by getting you closer to the culture and the beauty of the Himalayas.
An essential part of the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek, the route from Tengboche to Pheriche is a beautiful one. As you travel through picturesque Sherpa villages and experience the special combination of culture and hospitality, you will be pleased with the breathtaking beauty of the Khumbu area for the next five to six hours. Pheriche, situated away in the Himalayas, provides a peaceful retreat for hikers as they prepare for the experience that lies ahead.
A fascinating hike from Pheriche to Lobuche is the next stop on your Himalayan adventure. This 5- to 6-hour trek ascends to an altitude of 4,910 meters in the stunningly beautiful Khumbu area. Along the climb up, you may learn about the fascinating Sherpa culture and take in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Lobuche, located opposite the background of the majestic Himalayas, provides a lovely stop on your journey across the Himalayas.
Leave Pheriche and go off on a thrilling hike to Gorakshep. The 6- to 7-hour trek takes you to an altitude of 5,140 meters through the breathtakingly beautiful Khumbu area. Along popular paths, you may take in breathtaking views of the Himalayas. When you get to Gorakshep, get ready for the day's highlight which is a visit to Everest Base Camp situated at 5,364 meters. You will have your first close experience with the magnificence of Everest on this day, which is a major milestone in your journey.
The eighth day of the hike is gonna be more hectic but will be the best day of your life because you will get to experience a lot of things in a single day. Firstly, you will have to trek to Kala Pathar from where you will see the Everest view even better. Then you will have to return back to Gorekshep where a helicopter will be kept ready for you. The helicopter flight starts from Gorekshep and will end in Lukla which will last for around 20 minutes and will be among the best 20 minutes of your life where you will witness an aerial view of every place you have set foot on in the Everest region. After the helicopter flight you will fly back from Lukha to Kathmandu throw plane.
