Overview

Trekking in Nepal is a dream for travelers from all over the world, and the Annapurna area shows the diversity of this Himalayan paradise. No matter if you’re a seasoned trekker or a family with kids, the Annapurna area has treks that last anywhere from 3 to 14 days. The area includes not only beautiful mountains but also green woods and lots of cultural activities. From Pokhara, the lively town that serves as the entrance to Annapurna, you can see the mountains clearly. This sets the tone for a full mountain experience from the very beginning.

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is one of the most popular choices because it lets you see both the Annapurna and Machhapucchre base camps. Along the way, you’ll pass through Gurung towns and meet the tough Gurung people, who are known for their work with global security forces. The scenery changes from hot springs in Jhinu Danda, the strong Modi Khola river, to beautiful woods of pine and rhododendrons, and finally to the grandeur of high mountains. Beautiful views of Machhapucchre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, and Annapurna III can be seen from both base camps.

With an elevation of 4,130m at Annapurna Base Camp, the walk is easy on the body and can be done at any time of the year. The eight-day trip starts and ends in Pokhara, making it the right mix of excitement and rest by the lake.

The 11-day Annapurna Sanctuary trip takes you through winding trails, lush woods, and rivers that are more beautiful than any you’ve ever seen. The trip not only shows off different scenery but also weaves together a lot of different cultures. Trekkers learn about the customs of the Gurung and Magar people by going through their towns and visiting Buddhist schools, temples, and shrines. The walk goes through the Annapurna Conservation Area, which is a safe home for rare animals. This makes the journey more environmentally friendly.

Trekking Route

The exciting trip starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which is about 200 kilometers away. The trip takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Nepal. The adventure keeps going with a drive to Naya Pool and then another beautiful drive to Ghandruk. At an elevation of 1940 meters, Ghandruk is open to visitors for a 6-hour tour. The walk continues along the road that goes from Ghandruk to Chomrong, which is about 10 kilometers away. The trip begins, going up to 2170 meters over 6 hours. Then the hike to Bamboo is about 8 kilometers long and takes 5 hours. The change to Deurali, which is at an elevation of 3230 meters, is about 9 kilometers long and takes about the same amount of time.

The most beautiful part of the trip is the part that goes from Deurali to the stunning Annapurna Base Camp, which is 4130 meters above sea level. The distance traveled is about 9 kilometers. After going down from the top, the trail goes back to Bamboo, a journey that takes eight hours and eight kilometers. The trip starts with a hike to Jhinu Danda, which is at an elevation of 1760 meters. The hike is about 10 kilometers long and takes 6 hours to complete. The adventure starts with a hike from Jhinu Danda to Naya Pool and ends with a 7-hour drive back to Pokhara. The whole trip is about 12 kilometers long.

The trip back from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes about 8 hours and covers about 200 kilometers. The adventure is almost over. This amazing walk not only shows off Nepal’s varied landscape, but also gives people looking for the magic of the Annapurna region a deep cultural and natural experience.

Tour Plan

When you get to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,429ft), Nepal's lively city, our representative will greet you with a smile. After being met at the airport, you are taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent relaxing and getting better after your trip. In the evening, there is a full pre-trek meeting that gives you important information about the future trip, safety tips, and a chance to ask any questions you may have.

First, you take an early morning trip to Pokhara. Then, you drive through beautiful scenery to Kimche, which is where your hike begins. The path winds through terraced fields, cute towns, and rhododendron woods until it reaches the quaint village of Ghandruk, which is 1,940m (6,365ft) above sea level. It's possible to learn about traditional Gurung culture, enjoy beautiful mountain views, and spend the night in the local atmosphere here.

The hike goes on, taking you through green woods and fields with terraces. Ascending to Kimrong Khola and then to Chhomrong (2,170m/7,120ft), a lovely town tucked against the Annapurna Massif, where you can spend the night and enjoy views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare.

You cross the Chhomrong Khola and go up to Sinuwa by going down stone stairs. The path goes through thick bamboo woods, giving the area a mysterious feel. It leads to Bamboo (2,310m/7,579ft), a small village surrounded by the peaceful Himalayan desert.

As you walk through bamboo and rhododendron woods, the trail gets steeper. You'll pass the Himalayan Hotel and climb to Hinku Cave before reaching Deurali, which is 3,230 meters (10,598 feet) above sea level. The scenery changes dramatically, becoming rocky rocks with stunning views of the Modi Khola valley and the peaks in the area.

Today is the most important part of your trip because you are going to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (4,130m/13,551ft). Along the path, you can see beautiful views of Machapuchare. When you get to Annapurna Base Camp, you can see a huge group of peaks, including Annapurna I. You'll be amazed by the sunset and feel proud that you made it to this high-altitude haven.

You start your journey back to Bamboo after seeing the sunrise over the Himalayas. The same path gives you a different view of the scenery you walked through on the way up, giving you a chance to think about how beautiful the Annapurna Sanctuary is.

You continue your journey through Chhomrong and reach Jhinu Danda, which is 1,760 meters (5,775 feet) below you. Along the way, you can relax in the natural hot springs, which are great for sore muscles. The evening takes place in Jhinu Danda, in the peaceful foothills of the Himalayas.

As you make your way to Nayapul on the last day of hiking, you'll see beautiful scenery and cute towns. From Nayapul, you can take a beautiful drive back to Pokhara. After finishing your hike, you can celebrate with a well-earned rest and maybe a boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Say goodbye to Pokhara as you fly back to Kathmandu. When you get there, you can look around the city, see some cultural sites, or do some last-minute gift shopping.

As your trip to Nepal comes to an end, you are taken to the international airport to catch your flight home. As you leave, remember the beautiful scenery, the chance to meet new people, and the accomplishment of reaching the Annapurna Base Camp. Nepal, with its beautiful Himalayas, calls until next time!
