40 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu, Palanchowk Bhagawati is located on a hilltop overlooking the Panchkhal valley. It is believed that King Man Dev ordered the building of this Palanchowk Bhagwati temple. The shrine contains a 3-foot-long, exquisitely sculpted black stone statue of Goddess Bhagwati.
