Shivapuri trekking provides an excellent opportunity to see the fine scenery of Shivapuri watershed and its ever green forests. The trek offers panoramic views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Jugal. This trek is a very popular short trek for those people who don’t have much time in Nepal. This trek offers fine scenery from pine forests to lush tropical jungle and rhododendron forests. It passes by Nagarkot which is known as one of the best places in the valley to get inspiring sunset and sunrise mountain views. It also gives the trekker a chance to experience the local culture and rural way of life. Along the way this trail passes some of the oldest temples and buildings in Nepal, thus creating an all-round trek to the best out of a short stay in Nepal.
Itinerary Detailed
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Your arrival to Airport, you will be met by our Airport representatives and transferred to Hotel, B.B. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu City Tour
Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley with guided tour to Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Return back to Hotel, B.B. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Shivapuri
After having breakfast you drive to Budhanilakantha (30min) and from there you trek to shivapuri where you can start observing the beautiful scenery of your surroundings. The trail forwards having spectacular views of mountains like Annapurna, Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Jugal Himal and reaches Shivapuri. O/N at Shivapuri.
Day 04: Shivapuri to Chisopani (2134m)
From Shivapuri you trek to Chisopani. The trail goes along the ridge between the Shivapuri watershed and the fine green forest. After walking further you reach Chisopani. O/N at Chisopani.
Day 05: Chisopani to Nagarkot (2175m)
From Chisopani you trek through the lush forests and out into rural hillside farming land. The trail meets a main route and climbs up to Nagarkot early in the morning. In Nagarkot you will spend sunrise and sunset. At these times, Nagarkot is one of the best look out points in the Kathmandu valley. From here you can see splendid views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal and Everest. It is one of the most popular places for viewing the mountains. O/N at Nagarkot.
Day 06: Nagarkot to Kathmandu
From Nagarkot you trek down to Changu Narayan. Changu Narayan is the oldest temple in the valley and is listed as a world cultural heritage site. Trek to Bhaktapur where you can spend some time looking around Bhaktapur Durbar Square. From Bhaktapur drive back to Kathmandu (1 hour). Hotel B.B. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 07: Transfer to Airport for your onward destination.
